Mondays: Isabella Bannerman

Isabella first heard about the possibility of working on an all women daily strip from Jay Kennedy, who had been picking up her cartoons for his trial comic, The New Breed.
She has been delighted to have been working as 1/6th of Six Chix since it started in 1999.
Isabella Bannerman has been a cartoonist since 1987, when she won first prize in the San Francisco Bay Guardian Cartoon Contest. Since then, her work has been in many publications, including Glamour, The New York Times, The Funny Times and World War 3 Illustrated. Her Coffee God t-shirt has been sold many times by Northern Sun. A collection of her work, Pacifists in Bomber Jackets was published in 1998 by Laugh Lines Press. She has also worked in television as a set painter, animator and director, contributing to Mtv, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and Jim Jinkins’ Doug. She lives with her family in Westchester County, NY.
